The 0308625 retaining ring is an OEM spring clip used to secure shafts, bearings, and other rotating components within OMC Johnson/Evinrude outboard motors. This metal ring prevents axial movement and assembly disassembly during engine operation. Available as new old stock from Express Marine (priced around $90) and other marine suppliers, it is a critical wear item often replaced during gearcase overhauls.
